To stress my point one more time, you can have a million reasons to justify to legitimancy of the word "Shina," but such a word would bring you dislike (and possibly hatred) from the Chinese people. Are you sure that you want to sacrifice friendshipfor just the word "Shina." I don't know whether you care to be friends with the Chinese people, but I can pretty much assure you that there are a lot of those Chinese and Japanese people who want to make friends with each other. Letting a word "Shina"destroy the bridge between the two peoples is simply too high a price to pay, don't you think so?

If the reason of "academics" can justify the use of the word "Shina," then Japan can be called "Wa-koku" which is not a respectful name for Japan. Iwould never use this name, and no Chinese person had or ever would argue for the legitimancy of calling Japan such a name. Although the word had been used in many traditional Chinese records, it does not mean that it is appropriate to use the same wordfor Japan, right? I and every Chinese person knows that this is disrespectful to the Japanese people, so we don't use it. Now, this is the same thing as you want to call us "Shina" or "Shinajin", isn't it?
