Media report some groups of South Korean citizen and scientists are planning to make bad use of the World Year of Physics 2005’s events coming this month(mid-April) for their wrong political and ideological show concerning the territory dispute over small island in Japan Sea, called Takeshima(Dokdo in Korean) which lies at a latitude of 37°9'N and a longitude of 131°55'E, 85 nautical miles northwest of Oki Island, Shimane Prefecture, Japan. Since 1954, South Korean troop has occupied the island illegally. And the country has never agreed the settlement talk with Japan until now.

Details of the reported political show they are planning aren’t known yet, but allegedly they are going to light up the island and so on in order to send political appeal of her sovereignty on the island to the world when they join to the international communication event of the World Year of Physics 2005 in mid-April.

I have reported you about that news because I think you would be interested in such bad use of the international event which should be organized not to contribute the political and ideological purpose of one country’s one-sided assertions, but to contribute the development of science and humanity of the world.
