Well, it's Adhamiya.

Are there government forces, or Coalition forces, here,
to protect this area ?
この地区を保護する政府軍や連合軍はここにはいないのですか。

Yes, there is the National Guard, and the Americans.
But the problems still keep happening here, and we will never accept
strangers coming here, to make problems in our neighborhood,
or hurt our families and the people in this area.
So we decided to share the watch and other duties,
between all of us in the area.
We each take a few hours, to provide security.
While some sleep, others remain on guard.
国軍と米軍がいるよ。
でもここではまだ問題が起きているんだ。
よそ者がここにやって来て、この地区で問題を起こしたり、
この地区の家族や住民を傷付けるのを絶対に受け入れられない。
だから俺達はこの地区の全員で見張りやその他の任務を
分担することに決めたんだ。
数時間ずつ交代して、治安を確保しているんだ。
何人かが眠っている間に、他の者が警備しているんだ。

Are there any problems, between you and the police,
or the Iraqi National Guard ?
あなた達と警察や国軍との間に何か問題はありますか。

Yes there are problems.
Many times they banned us from carrying weapons and protecting the area.
We are still doing this to protect our families,
we do not care for the Americans and Iraqi police.

俺達が武器を運んで、この地区を守るのをやつらは何度も禁止した。
俺達はまだこうして家族を守っている。
俺達は米軍やイラク警察を気にしない。

What is the situation now, around Baghdad ?
バグダッド中の現在の状況はどうですか。

Well, it's bad, it's going from bad to worse.
But we hope it will improve.
God willing, it will improve.
People will be on guard here, until the morning.
Keeping the situation the same forever is impossible.
I wish we will have a government working together for the nation,
and not cooperating with the Coalition.
そうだな、ひどい状況だな。ますますひどくなっている。
でも改善されることを願ってるよ。
神の御加護で良くなるだろう。
朝まで人々は警備にここに来るでしょう。
ずっとこんなことを続けるのは不可能だ。
政府が協力して国の為に働き、連合軍とは協力しなければいいのに。

Is there cooperation between the guards,
or is everyone working on his own ?
警備の間で協力があるんですか、それとも各単独でやっているんですか。

For sure it's organized between us.
It must be this way.
All the neighborhoods here are protected by the people who live there
themselves, with the weapons they have and their own ammunition.
We are ready to give our lives, to protect this neighborhood.
確かに俺達の間には団結がある。
全ての地区が、そこに住んでいる者達自身が、
自ら持っている武器や弾薬で守っているんだ。

Is there only one checkpoint, or are there others like this ?
検問所は一つだけですか、それとも他にもこのようなのがあるんですか。

For sure there are others, on every street in every area.
Especially in Adhamiya, and there is communication,
between all the guys here.
確かに他にもある。
あらゆる地区のあらゆる通りに。
特にここアダミーヤでは、全ての男達の間にコミュニケーションがある。
