対イラク武力行使

ブッシュ米大統領が16日、イラク戦争を主導した「ネオコン（新保守主義）」の代表格であるウルフォウィッツ米国防副長官を世界銀行の次期総裁に推薦したことに対し、欧州では驚きと反発の声があがっています。

英・経済専門紙フィナンシャル・タイムズ(電子版)18日付けは、「世界銀行への貧しい選択」と題する社説を掲げ、この問題について、「イラク戦争をすすめた単独行動主義の作戦立案者を多国間主義の開発機関の総裁に据えるのはニワトリ小屋にキツネを放つようなものだ」と批判しました。

また同社説は、「世界は、ウルフォウィッツ氏に導かれる世銀を米国の権力と米国の優先課題を進める道具としてしか見なさないだろう」とし、欧州諸国は指名に驚きを表すべきだと述べています。
