　 この疑問の答になるかどうかはわからないけど、例の「ブッシュとブレアの密約」をすっぱ抜いたバニティフェア誌ののレポート「戦争への道」は、CIAスタッフへの圧力を、なまなましく伝えています。

　 以下、手元のバニティフェア誌（2004年5月号）から、ちょびっとだけ引用。

　 There was a lot of pressure, no question. The White House, State, Defense, were raising questions, heavily on W.M.D. and the issue of terrorism. Why do you select this information rather than that? Why have you downplayed this particular thing? ..... Sure, I heard that some of the analysts felt there was pressure. We heard about it from friends. There are always some people in the agency who will say ’We've been pushd too hard' Analysts will say, ' You are trying to politicize it.' There were people who felt there was too much pressure. Not that they were being asked to change their judgements, but they were being asked again and again to restate their judgements − 　 do another paper on this, repetitive pressures. Do it again.

There may have been some of that. The requests came from 'primarily people' outside asking for the same paper again and again. There was a lot of repetitive tasking.....

The repetitive requests came from the 'senior costomers' including White House, the vice president, State, Defence, and the Joint Chiefs of Staff....
