officialにはそれ自体で「高官」の意味もありますが、スポークスマンレベル（これもofficialといえる）ではなく、「高官」だということを言うためには、a ranking officialとした方がいいと思います。

原文の「東京」という表現は、狭義では、the Japanese governmentの意味に使われますので、この使い方は狭すぎますね（日本の代名詞としての東京、と日本政府という意味での東京の双方の意味だとは思いますが）

延々と、はむつかしいですね。continuous(ly)でもuninterrupted(ly)でもいいともいますが、途中途切れたこともあるではないか、ほかの番組の総計時間の方が長いではないか、などと反論されそうですし、いや、比ゆ的にcontinuous, interruptedといったのだという再反論もできますし。sporadical(ly)では弱すぎるし。一つの手は、continuous(ly)ではなくて、continual(ly)を使うことでしょうか。
