Japanese History Revisionism (2)

Atrocities
See liberation.
Bushido (武士道)
1) The moral code of immoral practice of the samurai. E.g. killing innocent unarmed people to demonstrate "courage";
2) Its katakana is a transliteration of an English word: "bullshit".
Courage
A Japanese moral virtue demonstrated:
1) by telling lies without brinking an eye;
2) by remaining silence in front of a video camera for 5 minutes after denying the existence of "comfort women" but confronted with official records.
Gyakusatsu (虐殺)/ massacre
1) Call it "lie" when being accused of;
2) Or call it a "minor incident";
3) The best way to show off the courage of the Japanese Imperial army when the enemies are actually unarmed civilians and disarmed POWs;
4) A sadist term. It is not just killing in great numbers but killing in the most savage ways.
Hansei (反省) / reflection; reconsideration
1) A word used to fool the Chinese in believing that the Japanese government is sorry for what they have done during the War;
2) Different from Chinese implications, it means review involving no moral judgement. E.g. hanseikai: a meeting of reviewing (the activity of a club);
3) To fool the world that Japan regrets for its aggressive role in the War but in fact just improves its means and tactics to achieve the same ambition of conquering the world: not by military force but through yen.
Hara kiri (腹きり)
It is not just a way to protect the honor of a samurai. It is also common practice of the Japanese Imperial army to treat their rape victims or to those who refused to be raped.
Historical Neo-liberalism
1) A historical theory promoted by an "official" professor at the top university. Same as the German revisionists but worse than the Germans. Targetting many races instead of one. (JK)
2) A new theory so liberal that it liberates itself from basic facts of history. (ZD)
History Text-book in Japan
1) Compilations of tales to brainstorm young school children. There is no truth in history. Everything is just a fairly tale. (JK)
Honor
1) Something very fragile in the history of modern Japan. It must be consciously protected by lies;
2) In most cases, it means "shame" in other languages;
3) Something maintained by covering up scandals.
Kokutai (国体)
The glory of a country. Literally means "the body of a nation" which has to be maintained by lots of cosmetic materials, esp. lies, in Japan.
Liberation
Similar to massacre and atrocities but more horrible. Only refer to things the Japanese done to its neighbours during the War. When similar things happen to the Japanese, such as the bombing of Japanese cities, use atrocities.
"Masochistic Historical Theory"
1) A term used by the historical neo-liberalism to attack its academic opponents. It propagates "a recovery from the masochistic theory" imposed by SCAP," i.e. to glorify aggressive wars and a totalitarian police-state. (JK)
2) A theory to prevent the Japanese government from practising sadism again. (ZD)
Publishing business
Very risky business in Japan especially if you publish an officially licensed history text-books. The publishing house becomes a target of "Gaisen-sha" (shouting by a very loud loud-speaker), and right-wing bastards.
The business cannot expect protection from Police dispite the existence of the Penal Code which is supposed to punish "interference to others' business by force".
Nevertheless, this gives business oppotunities to right-wing bastards. (JK)
Racism
Whatever criticism against Japan is racist. Thus, Tomiichi Maruyama is a racist when he apologized for Japan's wrong doings in WW II.
