Much has been made of South Korea's recent Defense White Paper saying the United States would dispatch 690,000 troops and 2,000 warplanes if war broke out on the Korean Peninsula. It also dropped the old phrase "main enemy", meaning North Korea, which once threatened to turn the South into a "sea of fire" in a war.
