自分の名前が書かれた弾丸というのは面白い発想ですね。

BRIAN TURNER:
貴方の為に作られた弾丸があれば、
貴方を狙った敵は引き金を引くのをためらうでしょう。


「Here, Bullet」（「ここに、弾丸が」）という詩は
本のタイトルと同じで代表的な作品です。
死に対する嘲りであると同時に、死への恐怖にも理解を示しています。
この詩の発想は、ほとばしるように出てきました。
まず書いてから、折りたたみ、小さなビニールケースの中に入れて、
左胸のポケットに入れました。
駐留中ずっと携帯していました。



Here, Bullet

If a body is what you want,
then here is bone and gristle and flesh.
Here is the clavicle-snapped wish,
the aorta’s opened valves, the leap
thought makes at the synaptic gap.
Here is the adrenaline rush you crave,
that inexorable flight, that insane puncture
into heat and blood. And I dare you to finish
what you've started. Because here, Bullet,
here is where I complete the word you bring
hissing through the air, here is where I moan
the barrel’s cold esophagus, triggering
my tongue’s explosives for the rifling I have
inside of me, each twist of the round
spun deeper, because here, Bullet,
here is where the world ends, every time.

遺体が欲しいのなら
ここに骨と筋と肉がある
ポキンと折れた鎖骨
パックリと口を開けた大動脈の弁
君のアドレナリンがほとばしる
どうすることもできぬ衝動と狂気
暑さと血の匂い
君が始めてしまったことを終えさせてあげよう
ここに弾丸があるから
君の投げた言葉を私が完成させよう
冷たい銃の引き金を引き
私の舌の上の爆薬に火をつけさせよう
引き金を引くたびにそれは深く食い込む
ここに弾丸があるから
一つの弾丸ごとに一つの世界
