Earlier this year, the Iraqi newspaper Al-Mada published a list of about 270 former government officials, activists, journalists and U.N. officials from more than 46 countries suspected of profiting from Iraqi oil sales under the program.

イラクの２７０人及ぶ、元イラク高官、政治運動家、ジャーナリスト、そして４６カ国からの国連高官などがこの宮殿のための石油と呼ばれたプログラムで私服を肥やしていたことがイラク新聞で報道された。

The U.S. General Accounting Office, Congress' investigative arm, estimated that Saddam's government pocketed 　 $5.7 b illion by smuggling oil to its neighbors and $4.4 billion by extracting kickbacks on otherwise legitimate contracts.

米国議会の調査によれば、フセインは近隣諸国に石油を持ち出して$5.7 b illionもうけ、$4.4 billion を普通の契約からピンはねしていたとある。
