Reichstag Fire, burning of the Reichstag (parliament) building in Berlin, on the night of Feb. 27, 1933, a key event widely believed to have been contrived by the newly formed Nazi government itself to turn public opinion against its opponents and to assume emergency powers.
Although the alleged "assassination attempt" is not on the same scale as the Reichstag Fire, but the schemes behind them are quite similar.
Some background on the 3/20 presidential election of Republic of China (Taiwan): according to this Reuters article, "Underground bookies had been offering even money on a Lien victory by a margin of 850,000 votes while on Chen they were offering odds of 1.15-1 for a win by any margin." Lien is the candidate of pan-Blue (Chinese Nationalist Party & People First Party), while Chen is the "victim" of this "assassination attempt".
Actually, my church friends from Taiwan told me that the payout on Chen's win was as high as 2-to-1 a few days ago, i.e., Taiwan's public were sure that Chen would lose this election.
Regarding whether you are pan-Blue or pan-Green, American or Chinese/Taiwanese, use your brain to think:
Who will benefit from the alleged "assassination attempt"???
1). The usual suspect, the so-called Chinese "Communist". If they were so STUPID to do something like this, then the Taiwan Strait would NOT have been so quiet now. If they EVER wanted to do this, it would have ALREADY happened four years ago (when Bill Clinton was the U.S. President). If they really did this, both Chen and Lu would have already DIED (just some highly toxic/poisonous coating on bullets would do it).
2). The pan-Blue, Chen's opponent in this election. The pan-Blue were relatively sure they would win this election so they were not desperate at all. All they needed to do was to wait another 24 hours. Only really desperate people would do something like this.
Before this "incident", a few days ago my church friends from Taiwan told me that they couldn't tell what Chen would do right before the election, since it was becoming more and more apparent that Chen would lose this election and he was well known in Taiwan for doing ANYTHING to win an election.
Use your brain...
-- The hospital did not take off Chen's clothes for CT checking. They ridiculously found the bullet between Chen?s back and the clothes???
-- Take a close look at the photo of the wound from the Qi Mei Hospital. It is NOT a wound. Left by a bullet (If the bullet was found in the clothes, it just scratched past. If it went in through Chen¨s side, there should be a large hole in his stomach and everything in a mess.) What is it then? It is a cut through which a doctor cuts the appendix or the underskin surplus fat. The wound is ridiculously false.
-- Usually on the way where Chen planned to pass, there are well-equipped security guards to protect him and other officials and to prevent any possible attacks. Questions:
Someone took out his gun and aimed at Chen, but no guard found this???
Chen's team was just before Chen Da Hospital at the time of the shooting. The hospital is well-equipped for first aid. Now, Chen was wounded in the shooting, but Chen and his team did not fell serious or tense. The team then drove to Qi Mei, a hospital a few kilometers away from the spot of the shooting.
Strange and stranger again.
Were the security guards and special guards all sleeping when the shooting happened?

1. Spot of the shooting: 1.m km from South Taiwan City Hospital, 3 km from Chen Da National Hospital, 6 km from Qi Mei Private Hospital!!! Why abandon the near and drive to the far???
2. Why special guards were already stationed in advance at Qi Mei Hospital in early morning???
