＞パレスチナ民衆には「イスラエルの軍事力に対抗できるのは自爆テロしかない」との声が強い。しかし、自爆テロがイスラエル軍の攻撃を招き、パレスチナの解放闘争は重大な危機に陥った。アラファト議長には戦術の転換を民衆に説得する役割が求められている。

The head of the Fatah movement in the West Bank, Marwan Barghouti, told Shin Bet security service interrogators Thursday that he had been involved in planning terror attacks, in which dozens of Israeli civilians were wounded or killed.
西岸にあるハマス活動の指導者である Marwan Barghouti は、木曜日、Shin Bet 安全保障尋問官に、数十名のイスラエル市民を殺傷したテロ攻撃の立案にかかわっていた、と話した。
Barghouti was arrested on April 15 during the IDF's "Operation Defensive Shield."
Barghouti は、イスラエル防衛軍の「守りの壁作戦」中の 4 月 15 日に逮捕された。
According to Shin Bet sources, Barghouti explained how funds were channeled from Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat to those carrying out the attacks.
Shin Bet 氏が話すところにれば、 Barghouti はいかに資金が、パレスチナ自治政府のアラファト議長から攻撃へそれらが流されていたかの経路を説明した。
The Shin Bet said that by questioning Barghouti and other senior Fatah officials, it has become clear that Arafat authorized the transfer of monies to Fatah activists with the knowledge that it was to be used for terror attacks.
Shin Bet 氏によれば、尋問によって Barghouti と他の上級ファタハ職員らは、アラファトは資金をテロ攻撃に使うべきファタハ活動家らに渡したと認識している、ことを公に認めた。
Similarly, they said, PA weapons storage facilities were used to provide arms for the activists.
同様に彼らは、パレスチナ自治政府の武器貯蔵倉庫は活動家らに武器を供給するために使われた、と言った。
