In the bloodiest day of the campaign against Palestinian terrorism, 15 soldiers were killed in ambushes as the IDF scaled back its assault on West Bank cities yesterday.
パレスチナ・テロリズムに反対するキャンペーンの最血日に、昨日ウエストバンクでイスラエル国防軍の攻撃を支持するも、15 人の兵士は待伏せに遭い殺された。
Thirteen reservists were killed in the Jenin refugee camp yesterday morning, and a soldier was killed there last night. A company commander was also killed in Nablus, apparently by "friendly fire."
13 人の予備兵は、昨日の朝ジェニン難民キャンプで殺され、そして兵士は同じく昨夜そこで殺された。 中隊長は外見上「友好的戦闘」である、ナブラスで同じく殺された。
The soldiers were on patrol when they tripped a number of bombs in a narrow alley and were buried under the rubble of collapsing buildings. Palestinian gunmen opened fire on them and also on a rescue squad which came to evacuate the dead and wounded.
兵士等は、狭い路地小路でいくつかの爆弾が爆発したときパトロール中であり、ビルディング崩壊のガレキの下に埋められた。 パレスチナ過激派は兵士等に攻撃を加え、さらに、死者や負傷者を撤退すべくやって来た救助隊にも攻撃した。
IDF Spokesman Brig.-Gen. Ron Kitrey said the army believes a suicide bomber also detonated himself on the patrol.

"We only know that there are the remains of a body strewn all over the place," Kitrey told Army Radio.
