Aviv told reporters he expects the senior PA officials inside the church to cooperate with the Israeli officials in bringing about a peaceful solution.

All of the clergy inside the church live in the Bethlehem area and are known to the Palestinians, who are not threatening them at gunpoint but are preventing them from leaving the site, he said.
