Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia threatened yesterday to halt the work of the cabinet unless security forces act to stem growing lawlessness in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
パレスチナのクレイ首相は、ガザと西岸で拡大する無法状態を停止させるべく活動をしないなら、内閣を辞めると昨日脅した。
"There are violations, especially by members of the security forces themselves," Qureia said. "This is not acceptable, and the citizen can no longer live with this chaos. If no limits are placed on the deterioration in the security situation, the government will suspend its responsibilities.
"We are telling the heads of the security services that there should be severe deterrence for all those who are tampering with security."
Qureia told reporters that Sunday's execution of four criminals was part of the process to restore order.
In the most recent of three shooting incidents in Ramallah in the past week, several members of the Palestinian security services took part in a gunfight between rival families in which two people were wounded.
