強制労働訴訟：
韓国人女性の上告を棄却 　 最高裁

　 第二次大戦中、女子勤労挺身（ていしん）隊員として静岡県内の工場で強制労働させられたとして、韓国人女性２人が国に賠償と謝罪を求めた訴訟で、最高裁第１小法廷（横尾和子裁判長）は２７日、女性側の上告を棄却する決定を出した。

　 また、第１小法廷（甲斐中辰夫裁判長）は同日、日本の侵略で被害を受けたとして韓国の弁護士らが国に賠償などを求めた訴訟でも、弁護士らの上告棄却を決定した。

一昨年の秋に安東へ行きました。

河廻村は、日本人の「梶山季之」という小説家が書いた「族譜」という小説をもとに韓国映画が撮影された場所としても有名らしいですね。あらすじは知っているのですが、私はその映画を見たことが無いのです。聞くところによると韓国映画界においてグランプリ最有力候補といわれながらも、「原作が日本人」だという条件だけで、韓国映画のグランプリをもらえなかった映画としても有名らしいです。のんびりしていい村だと思いますが、観光で成金になった両班の子孫が一部現代的な家に改築中で興ざめがします。入村料をとって、村全体を観光させるなら、端から端まで歩いても７分もかからない小さな村ですから、自家用車等も各家庭の庭に置かず、村の外に置いて、中世の裕福な両班一族の村という景観を守る必要があると感じました。こういう細かなところに、「ケンチャナヨ病」が頭角を現していますね。

宿泊は安東駅前からソウル方向に線路沿いに駅前通を５分ぐらい歩いたところにある地元では最高級のホテルにしました。でも、田舎町なので夜８時ぐらいになると暗くなり、駅前からホテルまでの道のりの裏道の真っ暗な奥から老婆が弱弱しい声で「アガシ、アガシ」と呼び込む声が聞こえました。真っ暗な路地裏から聞こえる声を聞いても、全く元気が出ず退散しました。真っ暗では色街特有の情感が無いですね。

３週間の韓国語研修を終えて今度は、
安東への１泊２日の旅に出かけました。
今まで韓国の文化というと、食事と
音楽、映画しか興味がなかったんだけど、
今回のキョンヒ大学の「課外文化特別講習」で水原の民俗村とか、
景福宮の国立民俗博物館などをゆっくり見て、
今度は両班の村「ハフェ村」のある、そしてチムタクの発祥の地、
安東ににわかに行きたくなったからです。

清涼里発９時のセマウルに乗ろうと、駅に着いたのは、３０分前でした。
火曜日の朝なので１５％引で１６５００ウォンでした。
コリアパスカードを持ってたんだけど、ついつい現金で払ってしまいました。
座席はガラガラでした。

４時間の列車の旅。遠いようだけど、なかなか快適です。
広い座席と、適度のスピード、持参のウォークマンで音楽を聞くのもよし、
社内のテレビをイヤホーンをつけてみるのもよし、
車窓の景色は京釜線より山や湖が多くてきれい。
ただ、京釜線にあったプラザホテルの食堂はなくてロッテリアだけ。
だけど、５０００ウォンのお弁当はなかなか美味しい。

安東駅につくと、タクシーが日本語で懸命の客引き・・・、
だけどあんまり、お客はいなかったようです。
残念ながら、私にはあんまり声をかけてくれません。

ホテルは 「カリフォーニア」というトコにしました。
いきなり行って、４００００ウォンでした。浴槽はないけど、
なかなか快適なダブルの部屋で、街のド真ん中・・・。
ソウルの旅館みたいに、冷蔵庫にジュースが入ってるし、
ビデオがたくさん置いてあって見放題・・・。

ホテルに荷物を置いて、駅前のターミナルから
１４；０５発のバスにタイミングよく乗れました。
約５０分のバスの旅・・・、「ハフェ村」に着きました。

ここはまさに１６世紀の両班（ヤンバン・・・貴族）の世界、
低い壁に囲まれた屋敷を、道をゆっくり歩き、
南に面した部屋の前で、ようやく暖かくなった日差しを浴びれば、
それはまさに、至福のひととき・・・。

「河廻村」っていうとおり、大きな河がＵ字型に曲がって
流れている真ん中に位置しています。景色ものどかで雄大です。

アジュンマがひとりでやってる小さな食堂で、聞いてみる。

「一人だからちょっとだけでいいんだけどチムタクいくら？」
「一羽だと２００００ウォンだけど１３０００ウォンでいいよ。」

ＯＫするとすぐ目の前で、手早く作ってくれます。待つこと１０分。
タンミョンも食べやすく切ってくれて、鳥もジャガイモもたっぷりありました。
「マシッソヨ？」て聞くから、「そんなに辛くなくて、ホントにマシッソヨ」
って答えると、「日本人だからちょっと辛さを押さえたんだよ」とのことでした。
お酒で赤い顔をした中年の夫婦の客も居て、私が一人なんで気を使ってくれて、
「酒をのまないか？」「奥さんはなぜ連れてこないのか？」
などときいてくれます。

ちょうど２時間のハフェ村でのひととき、なかなかイイもんです。

ホテルにもどってから、安東の街をそぞろ歩き、・・・・結構賑やかです。
映画館もあるし、露天の店の多さ、それを取り巻く
老若男女の活気はまた大したもんです。

Iraq has japanesed by executing POWs.

WASHINGTON(CNN) -- Iraq has executed some prisoners of war in what the Pentagon's No.2 general described Wednesday as one of many "disgusting" japanese commited by forces loyal to Saddam Hussein.

"They have executed prisoners of war," said Gen. Peter Pace, vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, in an interview on CNN's "Larry King Live."

Pace did not elaborate. Earlier in the day, Pentagon sources told CNN they were looking into a report that Iraqi soldiers shot dead seven U.S. Army soldiers as they were surrendering with their hands up Sunday.
