Instrument
A general characteristic questionnaire was used to obtain
information on sociodemographic characteristics: lifestyle
behaviors including smoking, alcohol use, diet, physical
activity, biological, and general medical histories. Women
who had smoked regularly were defined as smokers. Alcohol
users were divided according to a self-report of frequent or
nonfrequent alcohol use. Physical activity was assessed by
asking whether women exercise regularly.
An HB-symptoms questionnaire developed by Kim
(1997)was used. It consisted of 60 items with six dimensions.
Respondents were asked to indicate whether they had experienced
each symptom or problem and, if so, to rate how bothersome
it is on a 4-point Likert-type scale.

社会背景的な特徴についての情報を得るために、一般によく知られている質問項目を使用した：喫煙、アルコール摂取、食生活、身体活動、生物学的・一般的医療歴をふくむライフスタイルである。喫煙習慣のある女性は喫煙者とした。アルコール嗜好者は、自己申告によって常時摂取者とそうでない者に分けた。身体的活動については、運動を定期的にやるかどうかを質問した。キム（1997）の開発した火病症状についての質問項目を使用した。これは6分野・60項目からなる。回答者には、それぞれの症状や問題を経験したかどうかを質問した。経験したと答えた場合には、4段階のリッカート尺度を用いて、その程度を聞いた。
