METHOD

Design and Sample
This cross-sectional survey was conducted using a convenient
sampling method in seven metropolitan areas (Seoul,
Incheon, Pusan, Daegu, Woolsan, Daejon, and Kwangjoo)
and six provinces (Kyunggi, Kyungsang, Chunla,
Chungcheong, Kangwon, and Chejoo) in Korea. The sample
was recruited by self-selection at community-based social
groups such as community centers for women in town or city
hall auxiliaries. A total sample of 4,087 women ages 41 to 65
yearswas obtained for the study, of which 2,807women completed
the questionnaires used for the analysis, giving a
response rate of 68.7%. This study was approved by the
Human Subject Review Board, and each participant gave a
written informed consent.

この横断的調査は、利便性のよいサンプリング法を使って、韓国の七つの都市部（Seoul, Incheon, Pusan, Daegu, Woolsan, Daejon, and Kwangjoo）と、六つの郡（Kyunggi, Kyungsang, Chunla, Chungcheong, Kangwon, and Chejoo）で行なわれた。サンプル(調査対象）は、市・町役所に付属している地域婦人センターのような地域ベースの社会グループでの任意応募の形で行なわれた。年齢が41-65の計4,087人の女性がこの調査に参加した。このうち、2,807人が分析用の質問事項に全部答えた。回答率は68.7％。この調査は面談調査検討委員会の承認を得ており、それぞれの参加者には書面によるインフォームド・コンセントがあたえられた。

注：human 　 subjectとは、調査員が直接面談して、相手のプライバシーに介入したり、やり取りをしたりする調査対象の個々人のこと。それゆえに、相手側のインフォームド・コンセントが必要とされる。
