1960年の西部劇「アラモ」で映画中に流れた男女の無伴奏コーラスの「夏の緑の葉」が

「アラモ」のようにテーマ曲に民謡が用いられる西部劇はいくつかあるニダ、
有名なところでは「駅馬車」のテーマ曲アメリカ民謡「寂しい草原に埋めないで」、
「西部開拓史」のイギリス民謡「グリーンスリーブス」、「黄色いリボン」の
アメリカ民謡「黄色いリボン」、「荒野の決闘」のアメリカ民謡「愛しのクレメンタイン」などニダ。

しかしこれらの有名なアメリカ民謡と同程度の知名度でもテーマ曲には使われていない歌があるニダ、
↓の有名なアメリカ民謡「赤い河の谷間」ニダ。
日本でも多くの人がこのメロディを聴いたことがあるはずニダ。
多くの著名歌手に歌われているがミッチ・ミラー合唱団の歌をあげておくニダ。
