You do not understand the real history. During 1880s and 90s, most of the Chinese girls were bought and kidnapped by the CHINESE gangs located in California.Do you know that ?

Most of the buyers and pimps were Chinese, who lived at that time inChina town in San Fransisco ! I even name the streets if you think it is a lie. They killed the immigration officers who tried to stop the traffic. You should read the newpapers issued at that time.

Yes,I know that. But remarkable phenomena of the Chinese "whiteslavery" is that ever-increasing flow of Chinese prostitutes stemmed from deep-rooted social tradition of selling female children, who had been treated as inferior humans to male children. Do you know that? Even in today's China,some practice the similarbisiness:letting young girls out of their houses for Beijing or Shanghai for factories or restaurants, but in reality, for sex industries as mistresses or prostitutes. I am sure you know that. Rich Chinese now in Northern China usually want to have Russianmistresses. You know that.
No one disagree with your firm idea that you are "proud of China being strong enough to defend herself."and that "most of them are kind and peaceable ---- no arguing,no fighting, no gambling, no drinking, nobuying prostitutes, nosmuggling, no killing, no abusing their wives, no trafficing drugs.".
Boy! So many things you should have defended far before the facts show up. One example: if you go see the articles of NY Times on the Chinese underground businessmen still importingChinese females for prostitution and cheap labor, you will surely change your idea. They lure the girls for better life to the U.S.and most of the girls have known they will be asked to do some "dirty work". Who do you think should be blamed ? I won't blamethe girls who want to have better lives in foreign countries by all means.
Therefore, I respectfully disagree with your opinion that all the resposibilities for China having such a miserable history should go to the foreign pressure and that theChinese should not assume any responsibility at all. One thing you should know is that there always have been collaborating persons inside China who assist illegal activities when British and French invaded China.
Since Chinese communist governmentcontrolls all the material information out of people's reach, innocent persons like you have had no real knowledge unless somebody else tells the truth. Out of patriotic feelings, they usually want to deny those facts.They are all blind. It is verysad,indeed.
