Hamas member killed in explosion

A PALESTINIAN militant was killed today in a car bomb attack in the West Bank city of Nablus, Palestinian police said.

Ahmed Marshoud, 32, a member of the Hamas Islamic group, was walking into his office at a Palestinian government ministry when the car blew up.

Officials said the bomb was exploded using a remote controlled detonator. Israeli army officials refused comment on the incident.

Yesterday Israeli army snipers killed a suspected Palestinian militant in a move which signalled a return to "targeted killings" of Palestinians said to be planning attacks on Israelis.
