"Iraqi resistance deeply divided over Saddam Hussein's role"

に拠れば、イラクのゲリラは三分類できるそうである。



○一つは「Saddamists」旧バース党員で、ゲリラの中で最大、もっとも組織されたグループである。

一回の作戦に60・70人は参加可能らしい。

websiteもあり、文書も出版しているらしい。

the Saddamists consider they "have to fight everything that can strengthen the occupation such as the police and above all (army) translators because without them the occupiers are blind,"

警察官を襲ったりする暴力事件は、大体この連中らしい。




○二つめはIslamists、イスラム主義者。

Islamist guerrillas are against Saddam because he persecuted them".

と言うから、このイスラム主義者と旧バース党員とは仲がよくないらしい。

"The Islamist resistance recruits in the mosques and does not need financing because its members are volunteers, the weapons are available and the population shelters them."

自前・手弁当で頑張っているということか。

しかし場合によっては、原理主義者が旧バース党と共同するらしい。



○３つめはnationalists、愛国主義者。

the nationalists, refuses any cooperation with the ousted tyrant but does coordinate at a local level with the Islamists, said Abu Hazem, a nationalist combattant.

the nationalists see themselves as engaged in a war of liberation.

ほかの２派と共同せずに、連合国の占領からの祖国解放に従事している。



三派とも、ワラビ派(イスラム保守派の一種）と外国勢力の存在は、たいしたことはないとしているらしい。

All the factions minimised the role of the followers of the puritanical Wahhabi Islamic sect and non-Iraqi Arab combattants, without denying their presence.

レジスタンスといっても、フセイン時代に情報を西側に流していたIraqi National Accord (INA)の話も、最近イギリスのテレグラフ紙で伝わってきた。

イラクの政治情勢も、一筋縄で行かなくなってきたな。
