対米全面テロ

ニューヨークタイムス紙の９月２２日に国防副長官Wolfowitzの動向が記してある。

特に意味はないが、せっかく読んだのでメモ風に記す。

Wolfowitzが、どこかの反戦派のフォーラム

(グリーンウイッチビレッジとか書いてあった）

に乗り込んだ時の記録である。

それだけでもすごいか。

イラクの大量破壊兵器が見つからない問題については、

"First of all, being wrong in this business does not mean messing up," Mr. Wolfowitz said, adding that Iraq, like North Korea, was among "hard targets" for intelligence analysts to penetrate.

と答えたそうな。

新しい追加予算については、

Mr. Wolfowitz said it was crucial to stay the course and not "turn Iraq back to the Baathists who operate torture chambers."

と答えたそうな。

最後に、

He insisted the administration has "a strategy with an end game" that hinges on speeding up training of Iraqi security forces and a new army.
"They speak the language, and they know the cities they're policing," he said. "We want to get out of the occupation role."

と言ったそうな。

新生イラク軍の強化で、占領を早く終わりたい様子である。
