(3) 1979年1月1日付で、アメリカ合衆国は中華人民共和国政府を中国唯一の政府として公式に承認。台国の指導当局は条約の規定に従うものとし、合衆国はこれらによって台湾国にも履行義務が生じているとみなす。
(4) 旧ソビエト連邦の一員であるキリギスタン国として、条約の署名および批准を行った。継承の日付は不明だが、1993年に、国連に対し「Confidence Building Measures Data Declaration（信頼醸成措置データ宣言）」が提出されている。
(5) オランダ領アンチレスおよびアルーバも当該国。
(6) 条約に批准していないアラブ首長国連邦は１国家として表示。
(7) 英国の領土権に基づく拡張所有領土。ニュー・ヘブライデスも含むが、バヌアツが継続して対象であるかは未決定。

(3) Effective January 1, 1979, the United States recognized the government of the People's Republic of China as the sole government of China. The authorities on Taiwan state they will continue to abide by the provisions of the Convention, and the United States regards them as bound by its obligations.
(4) Formerly part of the Soviet Union who signed and ratified the Convention on behalf of Kyrgyzstan. Date of accession is unknown but Confidence Building Measures Data Declaration submitted to the UN in 1993.

(6) The United Arab Emirates which did not ratify the Convention is listed as one country.
(7) Extended to territories under the territorial sovereignty of the United Kingdom. Also extended to New Hebrides; continued application to Vanuatu not determined.
