Report: Katsav holds secret cease-fire talks
with PA official
President Moshe Katsav secretly met last week with a senior Palestinian Authority official in a bid to explore a possible cease-fire between Israel and the Palestinians, Israel Radio reported Wednesday.

"According to Palestinian authorities, during the meeting, Hani al-Hassan proposed a cease-fire and an end to terror attacks, with Israel withdrawing from Palestinian cities in Judea and Samaria [the West Bank], and the Palestinians undertaking responsibility for calm and security in those cities," it said.

詳細はまったく不明だが、イスラエルの大統領が自治政府高官と
停戦交渉を行なったとの報道。
イスラエルの大統領は「象徴」であって、ほとんど権力はない。
たしか、現在のカッツァブ大統領はリクード系のはず。
