Fifteen Palestinians, including seven unarmed civilians, were killed yesterday in separate IDF anti-Hamas operations in Gaza and the West Bank.

The IDF was after tool and die shops belonging to the Al Qata family, where, said the army, Qassam rockets and mortars were made. The soldiers called on residents of the family home to leave and then boobytrapped three shops, blowing them up. As a result the shops and the house beside them were destroyed, while at least four other houses in the area were badly damaged, as was a school. Three young people were found dead under the rubble, including Tamer Al Qata, and Sa'id and Al'a Elhilo, 19 and 20-year-old brothers. Their father complained to Channel 10 last night - in excellent Hebrew - that he was not a metal worker, but a floorer, and that he had lost his two sons, "and my entire world."

In Nablus, Palestinians said a 32-year-old baker on his way to work, and a 16 year old who was among a group of stone throwers were killed during a day-long army operation rounding up Hamas suspects in the Nablus casbah. The Israeli army said the older man was shot after he refused to halt when ordered to do so, and the teenage boy was shot after throwing a firebomb at Israeli forces.
