Kibbutz's belief in co-existence hindered security fence
A month prior to the attack, Metzer spokesman Dov Avital told the Post that "it's unnecessary to move the fence eastward. After all, in the end, when there is a permanent agreement, the border will be here, on the Green Line. We have no territorial claims on Kafin. So why cause all this hardship now? Why create bitterness and rage that will destroy the relationships we have built and will lead to more terrorists and more death on both sides?"

We will not cease to believe in coexistence, in compromise, in giving'
s secretary of this 50-year-old Hashomer Hatzair kibbutz, Dori was active in the community's struggle to coexist with local Arab villages on both sides of the Green Line despite ongoing tensions. Prominent among the mourners were several dozen Arabs from neighboring villages.
"Cry, beloved country, for the coexistence that has been harmed so deeply," eulogized kibbutz coordinator Doron Leiber. "For a life of belief. We will not cease to believe in coexistence, in compromise, in giving."
"The Arabs here at this funeral - especially our neighbors from Kafr Misr - are the answer to those murderers."
You expected peace and believed that it was close," she said to the open grave, "but you will never know peace in your lifetime. When I heard you talk politics, you were always so optimistic, innocent, and determined. You believed that everything would be OK in the end. I can not believe that you are not here - that you won't see the dream realized."
