Hamas Launches Rockets Towards Israel

Izz Deen Qassam Brigades, the military wing for the Islamic Resistance
Movement, Hamas, announced that the ceasefire agreement with Israel
is no longer valid because Israel has ended it along time ago.
It added that today's rocket attacks on Israeli settlements are
a natural response to the crimes committed by the occupation.
Moreover, Hamas vowed to respond with more rocket attacks
if Israel carries out an aggressive action against the movement.
We are now joined from Gaza by our correspondent, Wael Dahdouh.
Wael, in what context do these new developments come?
ハマスの軍事部門カッサム旅団は、イスラエルとの停戦協定が
イスラエルが随分前に終了させたのでもう効力がないと発表しました。
今日のイスラエルの入植地へのロケット弾発射は、
占領者により犯された罪に対する自然な反応であると付け加えました。
更に、もしイスラエルが抵抗運動に対して攻撃的な行動を実行するなら、
ハマスは更に多くのロケット攻撃で返答すると誓いました。

They come in the context of the ongoing Israeli campaign
against the Palestinian people.
During the past two week, the Israeli army has warned that
it will carry out a wide scale military operation in the Gaza Strip.
Moreover, the Israeli occupation continues to take aggressive measures
against Palestinians in the West Bank.
Almost on a daily basis, the Israeli forces carry out sweeps
in the Palestinian territories, targeting, killing,
and detaining Palestinian activists.
The Palestinian president and his Prime Minister Ismael Haniya have
exerted a tremendous amount of efforts to convince factions of
he resistance in the Gaza Strip to help make the ceasefire agreement
hold for an additional 3 weeks.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian resistance said that the Israeli military
measures adopted in the occupied territories are aggressive
and unjustifiable.
Therefore, Palestinian factions have no choice but to resume
rocket attacks on Sedrot and other Israeli settlements.
The Qassam Brigades, which launched today dozens of rocket and mortar
attacks into Israel, announced that the ceasefire agreement
with Israel has indeed ended.
Israel has not yet reacted to this news
in observance of its 59th anniversary.
It seems that the conflict between Palestinians and Israelis
might escalate into a new level.
