China has in recent months been very critical of Japan.
中国は、ここ数ヵ月、日本に対して極めて批判的であった。

The tension appeared to be easing, with the leaders of both the countries exchanging pleasantries at a regional forum.

China apparently does not remember the fact that in the 90s, when Japan was economically more powerful than China, Tokyo had extended generous assistance to Beijing.

As Japan is seeking a permanent seat in the UN Security Council, China is taking a tough stand, saying this will not be allowed.
日本が国連安保理常任理事国入りを模索する中、中国は厳しい立場を取り、これは認められないであろう、と述べている。

China can dictate in this respect, as it has the veto power.
中国は拒否権を保持しているので、中国はこの点で影響力を行使できる。

But, China is forgetting the help it got from Japan at a time when Beijing was in real need of help.
しかし、北京が本当に援助を必要としていた当時、その支援を日本が行った、ということを中国は忘れているのである。

In reality, it is the other way round.
実際には、それは１８０度反対である。

This is exactly what China is doing to Japan.
これこそが、中国が日本にしていること以外の何物でもないのである。
