Hi everyone! I am a Chinese from Hong Kong. I don't know Japanese at all, but I always wonder what do the majority of Japanese people think about the change of history textbook. I know there were some uncivilized demonstrations going on in Mainland China. I feel ashame about that.
I won't quit using Japanese products, nor stop making friends with Japanese people because of this.
For the history part, I really don't appreciate the fact that your government is actually trying to ignore it. No one can change history. History is not just words. It's the memory in our mind. This act is an insult to people who passed away during the incident. History is not something for people to laugh at, so I don't think anybody should feel ashame for what their country has done many years ago. History is for us to learn. Our history shows us the older generation had wars with other countries, and many people died during the wars. So we learn from history that war is bad and we shouldn't repeat the bad thing that happened in the past. What your government did is trying to prevent your next generation to learn from the past. And this is very dangerous!! Your next generation will never get to know the danger of Militarism.
I do think that those Chinese people who attacked the Japanese stores, or attacked Japanese people in China, are way too extreme. It wasn't the stores who changed the history textbook. It wasn't the young Japanese people who invaded China. It should be their government to blame. I wish they were more conscious when they did that.
If you hate Chinese, I am sorry. But please do not leave some insulting message here. I am just trying to understand the situation, and be friendly.
