米宣教師の「暗殺」発言は事実（米各紙）

事実だったみたいですね。一躍ニュースになっているみたいです。
USA TodayやCNN.com、Japan Timesでも取り上げられていました。
共同のいう「「われわれは彼を排除する能力があり、それを行使する時期がきた」という部分の原文はどうやら「We have the ability to take him (Chavez) out, and I think the time has come that we exercise that ability」らしいです。
でもこれだけでは「暗殺」を意味していっているのではないと思っていたら、各紙の報道を裏付ける発言がさらにあることが、USA Todayの記事から分かりました。曰く：
"We don't need another $200 billion war to get rid of one, you know, strong-arm dictator," he continued. "It's a whole lot easier to have some of the covert operatives do the job and then get it over with."
「強肩の独裁者を排除するのに、さらに2,000億ドルを投じて戦争を挑む必要はない。一部の秘密工作員にその仕事を任せてしまえば、ずっと手っ取り早く片付けられるからだ」
蛇足ですがこのUSA TodayとJapan Todayっていわゆる姉妹紙なんでしょうか。Japan Todayのほうは、記事そのものよりも読者のフィードバックが面白いですね。
