Beauchamp recants, or does he?
On August 6, 2007, the Weekly Standard's online editor Michael Goldfarb reported that Scott Thomas Beauchamp recanted in a sworn statement to Army investigators.[11][12] The New Republic questioned Army spokesman Major Steven Lamb who stated that he had no knowledge of the anonymous source who alleged that Beauchamp recanted. Major Lamb further declined to discuss any details of the investigation.[11][13] Michael Goldfarb and the Weekly Standard are standing by the story. [14]
