ペースはガンタナモ収容所は閉鎖されるべきで、アルカイダの扱いもジュネーブ協定に従うべきだと主張していたようで。イランとの戦争の愚かさについても警告していた。そういえば、バグダッドからイランの兵器だとかいう嘘が流されたとき、ペースはイランが関わっていた証拠はないなんてことを主張していたような。
