The 1920 Revolution Battalion is an Iraqi Sunni nationalist resistance
organization named in honor of the uprising that began that year

The Battalion is said to be controlled by the Association of Muslim
Scholars, led by Harith al Dhari and his son Muthana of the Zawba
tribe from western Iraq
Dhari was often in conflict with Abu Musab al Zarqawi
and his al Qaeda in Iraq organization.
