イラクで日本人拘束

"Three terrorist operations targeted the Radisson SAS, the Grand Hyatt and the Days Inn hotels," Maj. Bashir al-Daajeh told Petra, in what the agency said was the first official comment on the attacks. "They could be suicide operations."

Early reports from eyewitnesses said that at least 120 people had been injured and 50 or more killed, though officials had not yet confirmed those figures.

The authorities in Jordan said the blast in the Hyatt took place in the lobby, where there is a reception desk, a piano bar and a dining area. The explosion in the Days Inn was reported to have occurred inside a nightclub, and the attack in the Radisson took place at a wedding party.

Jordan, one of only two Arab nations to have signed a peace treaty with Israel, is a key American ally in the Middle East, having provided important logistical support during the American occupation of Iraq.
