I have no comments on the incident itself, as I am still struggling to understand what really happened there.

However, one thing is clear here - in China, we shouldn't expect the same freedom of speech as we enjoy in the West. Those stupid Japanese students should have known this before they played the show. For example, there are tens of TV shows every day in the U.S. which mock and ridicule Americans, President Bush, or anything about America. Would you get arrested for playing such shows? Of course not. Would there be any mass demonstrations by Americans against such shows? Of course not. Because we are serioius about the First Amendment in the Constitution, and we believe bad speech is better than no speech by people.

I don't see why you need to be in a country with such a limited degree of freedom of speech. If you want to study Chinese languages, there are many excellent schools in the U.S. to do that! Needless to say, in the U.S., you can listen to any music including "In the Name of Love" by Faye Wong, which was recently banned by the Chinese government.
