＞韓国の盧武鉉（ノ・ムヒョン）大統領は２２日、済州島を訪問中の小泉首相に対して、歴史問題の重要性を改めて指摘、解決を促した。前日の記者会見で「任期中は争点として公式に提起しない」としたことに対し野党などから批判を浴びたことを踏まえ、改めて言及することで世論の沈静化を狙ったと見られる。

＞韓国政府が明らかにしたもので、それによると大統領は２２日午前の散策終了後、「子どもたちが同じ歴史を別のものとして習っている。歴史の真実について合意するのは難しいかもしれないが未来の教育をどうするかは合意できる」などと首相に語り、前向きな対応を求めたという。
