「Palestinian mortar attack on Kfar Darom kills foreign worker from Thailand」
A Thai worker died yesterday afternoon after being hit earlier by shrapnel from a mortar fired into greenhouses on Kfar Darom settlement in the Gaza Strip.
The mortar was fired by Palestinians trying to divert attention from an attempt to infiltrate the settlement. The Palestinians used a bulldozer to flatten obstacles on a dirt road leading to the settlement but the attack was foiled by the Israel Defense Forces.

Over the past few months, the Palestinians have attempted more sophisticated attacks against the IDF in the Gaza Strip. On April 28, they tried to send a booby-trapped jeep to Kfar Darom but it was spotted by the IDF and intercepted.
Four weeks ago, they attempted to send a booby-trapped car from Rafah to explode next to a bus carrying workers to the border crossing. The bus hit a roadblock built shortly before by the IDF and exploded. A similar incident took place at the Netzarim junction two weeks ago.
