Dear Sir/Madam
REGARDING ANTI-JAPANESE DEMONSTRATIONS
I am a registered OOOOOOOOO OOOO practicing in Sydney and am also a member of the Korean culture & resources centre in Sydney. I have been asked by the chairman to write to your organization for a rally preparation.
As we are all aware, the Japanese government has gone too far in their pursuing the initiative of world politically and in their erasing bad past from their children’s history textbooks. Also the political leaders including the prime minister Koizumi still worship the war criminals in public whose souls are put in a Shinto temple of Tokyo.
To grab the international power and influence, they now try to advance to the standing member seat of the security council of UN. Without repenting their invasion, massacre, all kinds of war crimes, comfort women problem, etc., they still believe that they can stand by the top job to lead Asia and world because USA supports them.
To all Asians’ eyes, their endeavors to grab the power at UN look like an attempt to return to aggressions that they committed during the World War II. Therefore their advance will certainly cause not peace but troubles and resentment among many victims of the past war. We do not need Japan in the seat of security council and we can do our jobs a lot better for world peace without Japan in the seat.
I realized Japanese recent aggression caused severe resistance in Korea, China and USA by the protesters’ hoisting anti-Japanese catchphrases in the form of mass demonstration on the streets. Especially the latest demonstrations in front of UN building in New York and Los Angeles by joint ethnic groups from Chinese, Korean, Philippines, Indonesian, Malaysian, Singaporean communities who all suffered from the Japanese invasion in the 20th century delivered a strong and significant message to the region of the world to keep alert on the vicious intention of the Japanese.
I have no doubt that their timely demonstrations have given strong messages to the United Nations and the rightwing extremists including Bush in the US administration that blindly support the Japanese bid for the seat at UN.
In the meantime, Howard regime also praises the Japanese bid in cooperation with the USA not knowing how wicked and despicable plans the Japanese right wingers in the present regime are setting to regain Asia.
So let us all stand up and say “No” to the Japanese re-establishing military lust and “No” to the UN trying to take in such a country as a member of the security council. It is like accepting a criminal for the position of security guard for a house.
We would like to sit together with you to discuss about the organization for the joint- demonstrations in Sydney. Somewhere in Sydney CBD and sometime in the evening will be good for most of the people working, I gather. Your positive and prompt response will be appreciated.
Kind regards,
