Although I described myself as an ordinary Japanese citizen in my previous message, I guess that
most of the Koreans who have read a series of my opinions in Japanese certainly regard me as a typical right-wing Japanese. I don't
hesitate to be condemned as a person of this kind, although I myself think of me as a man of the middle-of-the-road.
One problem in the relationship between Japan and Korea is that Japanese peolple of even the neutral stance appear to be nationalist Japanese to Koreans. It seems that Koreans would like to accept only flattering Japanese people as friends of Korea. But I can categorically tell you that people of this sort cannot be trustworthy.
As to my stance toward the textbook issue, I have found nothing wrong in the style of depiction used in the revised edition, and this sance , I belived, is shared by most of the Japanese people except for some left-wing people. A lot of the Japanese people are angered by the korean people who condem Japan for distortion of the history in two senses.
One is that any country can be allowed to intervene in the school textbook of another country.
The other is why Korans still continue to complain althuoght some problematic expressions have been changed into apparently reasonable depictions.
Now I wind up my view on this issue, and would like to recommend you that you should study the history of colonization of Asian and other nations by western countries such as Britain, Spain, France and the Netherlands.
Do you know how many people were killed in Indonesia for 350 years by the Ddutch? Do you know how much wealth did the Dutch deprive of Indonesai during the apparently endless colonization?
Do you know the fact that several
tribes of indigenous Americans called Indio in West Indies were anihilated in genocide by Spaniards? The number of the victims were estimasted at three millions.
A Japanese proverb says “Even a chance acquaintance is predominated by destiny." In accordance with this, I would like to advise that you should make efforts to improve your English because I found some grammatical errors in your writings.
