In 1940, the major Korean non-communist resistance forces came together again to form the Korean Restoration
Army ( Han'guk Kwangbokkun ). The Restoration Army was one of the largest Korean military groups ever formed
in China, with a force that ultimately reached about 3,000 regulars under its command.
The Restoration Army worked with the KMT and, later United States military advisors. Koreans were in high demand
for intelligence and espionage work, and they also participated in guerrila operations, propaganda activity, and
helped to organize underground resistance in North China and Manchuria.
