Sort. 80 protection of animals

1 the union remits rules about the protection of the animals.

2 It regulates particularly:
a. the keeping of pets and the animal care;
b. the bioassays and the interventions in the living animal;
c. the use of animals;
d. the importation of animals and animal products;
e. the animal trade and the animal transportations;
f. killing of animals.

3 for the execution of the rules are responsible the cantons, as far as the law does not reserve it to the union.

Art. 80 Tierschutz
1 Der Bund erlässt Vorschriften über den Schutz der Tiere.

2 Er regelt insbesondere:
a.die Tierhaltung und die Tierpflege;
b.die Tierversuche und die Eingriffe am lebenden Tier;
c.die Verwendung von Tieren;
d.die Einfuhr von Tieren und tierischen Erzeugnissen;
e.den Tierhandel und die Tiertransporte;
f.das Töten von Tieren.

3 Für den Vollzug der Vorschriften sind die Kantone zuständig, soweit das Gesetz ihn nicht dem Bund vorbehält.
