All the other passengers were looking at me strangely. "Sumimaseng," I said. I knew it's bad to pretend to be Japanese whenever I make a mistake but... I did it. I cleared my throat as if nothing happened. I had one more hour to Calgary, the gate to the Rockies, so I began to check my schedule. I was able to travel for about 2 months but I was short of money. 500 dollars, that was all. When people travel the Rockies, they spend at least 500 dollars in 2 weeks, I've heard. Still I was so eager to travel as long as possible. I was very poor, but nothing could stop me.
