ＡＸ
文字「Ｘ」の最も古い使い方は「斧によるきざみ印」であろう。冒頭の樟の木に彫った古代の矢印がそれである。文字「Ａ」は「斧」の象形であるから、「ＡＸ」は文字通り「斧による印」なのだ。この案内印を付けるのに最適だったのが日本ではどこにでもあった樟の木である。だから「クスの木」と呼ばれたのだ。

「ＳＡＸＯＮ」の最初の意味は「流れ者」という事になる。つまり「サクソン」とは新参者に対する地元民族からの悪口なのだ。「メキシコ」も似たようなものであるが、こちらはあまり交流のない、例えば山の向こうに住む人々の事である。「ＸＡＶＩＥＲ」はご存じ「ザビエル」である。この名も「ジャマ者」「よそ者」と同じ程度の軽い悪口であろう。
