RESULTS
Sample Characteristics
The sample of 2,807 women whose data were used for
analysis in this study represents 45.1% from seven metropolitan
areas including Seoul and 54.9% drawn from the six
Korean provinces. In Korea, each province has many cities
and rural areas.Women from six provinces were divided into
41.3% in cities and 13.6% in rural areas. The mean age of the
sample was 55.6 years, with 25% older than the age of 60.
Nearly half of the sample (48.0%) had a middle/high school
level of education, and about 10% had a college education.
Most of the sample (76%)was drawn from the middle level of
socioeconomic status (SES). The majority of this sample
(80%) was married, and 40% of the sample had occupations
outside the home.
The Prevalence Rate of HB
In this study, a woman with a score higher than 2 was
regarded as possibly experiencing HB. Accordingly, the
potential number of HB women was 4.95% (n = 139) of the
total sample (N = 2,807).

被験者の特徴
本調査で分析用にデーターが使用された2，807人の女性はソウルを含む都市部が45．1%、6つの道が54．9%であった。韓国では各道は複数の市と農村部からなる。6つの道の女性は、41．3%が市、13．6％が農村部であった。被験者の平均年齢は55．6才で、そのうち25%は、60才以上であった。被験者のほぼ半分（48．0%）が、中高卒の学歴であり、10%ほどが大学教育を受けていた。被験者の大半(76%）は中流の社会経済的な身分であった。大部分(80%）は既婚で、40%は家庭外に仕事をもっていた。

火病罹患率
本調査では、2ポイント以上の点数の被験者女性を火病経験の可能性ありとした。従って。潜在的な火病女性は、全被験者(2，807人）のうち、4．95%(130人）であった。
