韓国ふざけんな

＞皆さん、朝日新聞によると、「海図の国際指針を定める「海図の国際指針を定める「国際水路機関」（ＩＨＯ）は１４日までに「日本海（Ｊａｐａｎ 　 Ｓｅａ）」の名称白紙化を加盟７２カ国に提案した。「日本の植民地政策により押しつけられた名称」との韓国の主張が背景にある。」との事です。このような韓国の傲岸不遜な主張が通っていいものでしょうか。私は韓国人の友人が多数いるのですが、今回ばかりは心底怒りを感じます。

　 このような主張は無理難題で、通るはずがないと多くの日本人の方達は思うかも知れませんが、日本人は他の民族と比べて非常におとなしく、あまり自己主張や文句を言ったりしないので、韓国のこの主張が通り日本海が東海に変わってしまう可能性が多いにあります。なぜかと言うと、苦情を言わないと言う事は、国際社会では相手の主張に同意したと思われるからであり、今回我々日本人が声を大にして異を唱えないと、日本も東海への名称変更に同意したと思われるからです。

　 皆さん、まずは国際水路機関に対し、この韓国の滅茶苦茶な主張への異議を主張しましょう。メールアドレスはinfo@ihb.mc
です。IHOは日本語はまず理解できないでしょうから、英語でメールを書いてください。英語が書けない方の為に、恥ずかしながら、私が参考例文を書いておきます。

To Whom It may Concern,

I have a serious concern regarding recent IHO's recommendation to the member nations that they should reconsider the name of the Sea of Japan.

South Korea has been insisting that the name of that sea should be East Sea because they have historically called it by that name. Furthermore, they say that they were forced to use the name "Sea of Japan" when they were occupied by Japan from 1910 to 1945.

But their insistence is not true. The Sea of Japan became to be known to the Europeans in early 19th century (long before Japan occupied Korea), and since then, that sea has been internationally called the Sea of Japan.

Secondly, I would like to point out that, when you look at the map, you can easily recognize that Korea's contact with what they call East Sea is quite minimal. Indeed, the eastern shoreline of Korea has only the partial contact with the western edge of the sea. On the other hand, I have to emphasize that Japan has much longer shorelines with the sea and, unlike Korea's partial contact, Japan occupies all the southern and eastern edges of the sea. Thus, we can easily understand that the sea is under more geographic dominance by Japan rather than by Korea.

Lastly, I would like to mention that, from Korea, that sea is indeed "east" sea. However, from Japan, it is rather "north" or "west" sea. And from Russia (the other important nation which has contact with the sea), it is "south" sea. Korea wants to call it East Sea simply because of their ethnocentrism, and as I argued above, their insistence does not have any rational basis. Furthermore, I do not think we should take into account irrational ethnocentrism when we consider the name of the sea.

For these reasons, I do not think it is fair to reconsider the name of Sea of Japan. It is indeed Japan's sea (from geographic perspective), and the name of East Sea is quite unfair to both Japan and Russia. Thus, I request that IHO immediately stop the process of reconsidering the name of Sea of Japan. Furthermore, I request that IHO assure the legitimacy of the name of Sea of Japan to all the member nations.

I hope IHO consider this message very seriously, and am looking forward to hearing the appropriate actions against Korea's irrational ethnocentric claim.
