Sorry to jump in. I feel relieved to know you hope the young generation will admire each other despite your personal view on Japanese as a group. And about Koeran getting exceited over the Japenese defeat, maybe it can't be helped in a way, because of all the terrible things Japan did before/during the war and those things Japan didn't do after the war. Though, no matter what, you should have act as a co-host. Yes, we're rivals, but like it or not, we're co-hosting.
I'm offended your supporters in the stadium insulted the Italian team. Supporting your national team is one thing, but humiliating the opposing team is another thing. Was the banner referring to Italy being friend of "Japanese empire" during the war necessary to support your team?
As for Italian reaction, you may think it's unreasonable, but to me, it's no different from Korean reaction to the short track athelete Ono. Italy's airing the scene Del Piero getting kicked on the back of his neck and blaming the referee is all the same. If your reaction is justified (as I it should be), Italian reaction should be also justified.
Of course, the insane comments made on this board are sickening (though Korean're doing the same about Japan on a Korean board).
This is a sport event after all. Each nation must respect the others, which you didn't do enough during the match against Italy.
