After reviewing footage from today, approximately 24-25 bottlenose dolphins were driven into Taiji.
A family of 15 dolphins are being held overnight in the cove ( 2 of these were netted at sea and transferred by slings), 5 were released out to sea by skiffs (juveniles) and remaining pod of 4-5 were driven back out to sea by killing boats.
It was an exhausting day for these dolphins.
They fought hard for over 6 hours!
Tomorrow they await their fate...captivity or slaughter?

Horrible day for dolphins !
Killers started driving large pod of dolphins around 8:30am this morning.
The pod was separated and killing boats continued to drive both pods toward Taiji.
First pod was netted into cove about 10am.
Then all 11 killing boats returned to sea to drive in second pod which fought so hard for about 5 hours.
Killers finally enclosed into net at sea.
They separated pod, released a few, took a few to the cove via skiff and then finally drove the remaining dolphins back to sea.
The captured pod will remain in the killing cove overnight until tomorrow when they will select for captivity and then slaughter the rest of the family.
We are just returning from a long and grueling day, but it is nothing compared to what these dolphins experienced.
We will review our footage.
Once we confirm numbers and species we will post updates.
