His call came with the two Sea Shepherd vessels due in Fremantle on Thursday night and as the conservation group's third ship,
the Bob Barker, confirmed its crew had been water-cannoned by a Japanese harpoon boat.
The incident occurred with crew aboard one of the Bob Barker's small motor boats.
"It smashed our radar tower on that vessel, it's completely destroyed," second mate Vincent Burke said.
"They're pretty strong cannons. We had a couple of crew that were hit very hard and were winded and were very sore still this morning."
Mr Burke said no crew members required medical help.
