Three systematic vessel-based sighting surveys are planed in the North Pacific in 2011. The main objective is to
examine the distribution and estimate the abundance of common minke and sei whales. These surveys will be
conducted in the western-North Pacific. The first survey will be conducted using the research vessel
Yushin-maru between 28 April and 6 June and will involves the area comprised between 43oN-51oN and
157oE-170oE (sub-area 9). The second survey will be conducted by the research vessel Yushin-maru No.2
between 28 April and 6 June in the area comprised between 35oN-43oN and 157oE-170oE (sub-area 9). The third
survey will be conducted by the research vessel Yushin-maru No.3 between 13 May and 6 June in the area
comprised between 35oN-45oN and 150oE-157oE (sub-area 8).

The first and second surveys (YS1 and YS2 surveys):
28 April, Leave Shimonoseki Port, Yamaguchi Prefecture
6th June, Arrive at Shimonoseki Port, Yamaguchi Prefecture
The third survey (YS3 survey):
13 May, Leave Shimonoseki Port, Yamaguchi Prefecture
6th June, Arrive at Shimonoseki Port, Yamaguchi Prefecture


つまり勇新丸三兄弟は６月６日まで“目視調査”をやったが

勇新丸と第２勇新丸だけは引き続き今度は“調査捕鯨”ってことでやるってわけだな。

つまり第３勇新丸は“捕獲調査”ではお休みってことだな。

なら「尚、捕獲調査に先立ち、第三勇新丸が目視調査に従事するため、５月１３日に下関港を出港して、６月６日に下関港に入港しました。」なんて

紛らわしい書き方なんかしないでちゃんと「勇新丸と第２勇新丸も目視調査に従事するため、４月２８日に下関港を出港して、６月６日に下関港に入港しました。」と書くべきだな。
